Our Curate, Rev Helen Kerridge

Hooray!  Rev Helen was Ordained on Saturday 1st July 2023 at 2:30pm in St Edmundsbury Cathedral.
A number of us were lucky enough to be at the Ordination, to cheer her on and celebrate with her.

Rev Helen Kerridge

I was born and brought up in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire where I grew up in a church going family.  I left school, just before my A Levels, to join the Army and spent just short of 15 years serving my country in the Royal Military Police.  In 1986 I met my husband, Graham, and we married the following year.

I left the Forces in 1993 and we moved back to the UK settling in Dorset before, in 2012, making the decision to relocate to Suffolk, a county we had come to love through holidays researching our respective family histories.

My Christian faith has always been important to me and a big part of who I am.  Through my army postings I was able to worship in some wonderful and interesting locations.  I love to sing and have sung in church choirs since the age of 9.  I had considered ordination whilst living in Dorset but knew the time and place were wrong but on moving to Suffolk God started ‘nagging’ at me to reconsider and I finally succumbed to Him after it was suggested I put myself forward for selection.  The rest is history!

My interests include Morris dancing, lace making, family history research and quality time spent with my husband and dog, preferably at our caravan in Norfolk.
